Cook agreed to terms worth more than $8.6 million over the course of one year. It offered $5.8 million and paid an initial payment of $7 million.
A lot of teams will likely want to get Cook as a backup running back before the playoffs, given that the Winnipeg Jets rarely utilize him very often.
“Dalvin has done great,” New York’s coach Robert Saleh said on Friday. “I know it’s been hard for him this season.
This has been a rough season for all of us. What a professional he is at his job and in the building. I like how he helps his friends and his teammates in the running room.
Saleh also said Cook was mad that he wasn’t playing enough. Folks who have seen NFL games before can tell when a player is hurt.

Since Rodgers got hurt, the squad wanted to run more plays through Hall, the player they took in the subsequent draft of last year. This meant that Cook was not utilized frequently in the backfield.
In 15 games with the Jets, Cook has only gotten 214 yards on the ground and 78 yards through the air.
