Jesús Navas, voted best player in the Europa League

Bono, Acuña and Rakitic, also in the ideal eleven that Sevilla monopolizes

MADRID, 4 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The captain of Sevilla, Jesús Navas, received the ‘player of the season’ award this Sunday in the 2022/23 Europa League, after lifting the champions trophy on Wednesday for the seventh time in the club’s history.

At 37 years old and with the call this week of the selection in Luis de la Fuente’s call for the League of Nations, Navas enjoys a second or third youth. For UEFA, the dedication and level of the Sevillian has no comparison, after he won the Europa League for the fourth time.

Sevilla maintained their full record, seven finals and seven titles, in the final in Budapest against Roma that was decided on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in which Navas once again appeared on the wing in his team’s goal. In addition, UEFA published the ideal eleven for this season, with more Sevilla fans accompanying Navas.

There is also Yassine Bono as goalkeeper, Marcos Acuña in the left-back position, as well as Ivan Rakitic in midfield. The rest of the team is made up of Romanists Smalling, Matic, Pellegrini and Dybala; Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, Rashford from Manchester United and Boniface from Union Saint-Gilloise.
