Jesús Calleja, new ambassador of Decathlon Spain

The mountaineer and explorer joins the sports brand for three years and will use its technical textiles, footwear and material

The mountaineer, explorer and television presenter Jesús Calleja has signed a collaboration agreement for the next three years with the sports company Decathlon, and will use the technical textiles, footwear and material of its brands specialized in mountain sports and climbing.

This alliance aims to strengthen Decathlon’s visibility and credibility as a leader in the field of mountain sports, and reaffirms its commitment to quality and technical expertise, the company indicates in a statement. Both parties share a firm commitment to nature and sport, which “ensures a successful collaboration,” he adds.

“For me, this alliance is very important for several reasons. Firstly, the arrival of Decathlon marked an explosion in the democratization of adventure equipment, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of their resources. Since then, we have all worn their clothes : who hasn’t had shoes, a t-shirt or a tent from this brand. But Decathlon not only democratized the sport, but also evolved to reach professionals. Personally, I have countless Decathlon products, and Simond was my one. preferred brand for high mountains,” declared Jesús Calleja.

Under this agreement, the adventurer will use the technical textiles, footwear and material of Decathlon’s brands specialized in mountain sports and climbing, and will provide their opinion on the products for their review and innovation.

This collaboration is a testament to the company’s joint work with professional athletes to develop the products of the future. “As I can have an opinion on the product, I live it with an intensity that probably no other person does. So I feel fantastic, very happy that they thought of me. Decathlon is, in capital letters, the most emblematic brand of sport in the world,” said Calleja.

For her part, Noelia Carmona, Brand&Media Director of Decathlon expressed her satisfaction with this collaboration with Jesús Calleja, a “born adventurer.” “Today, our goal is to increase the visibility and credibility of Decathlon as a sports brand, further affirming our quality and technical expertise. Together with it, we will continue to develop our offer for the most demanding sportsmen and women, benefiting all our customers with the technologies and innovations developed. This collaboration helps us accelerate our mission of ‘moving people through the wonders of sport,'” said Carmona.
