MADRID, 2 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The comedian and stand-up comedian Javi Sancho publishes his monologue ‘Sport also comes out’, in which he recounts the love-hate relationship with physical exercise that he has shared in theaters throughout Spain and which he now collects in an illustrated book with a prologue by the presenter and actor Santi Millán.
Edited by Geoplaneta, the 192-page book, available this Wednesday, April 3, is illustrated by Raquel Gu. “I’ll tell you a little: I consider an elite athlete from someone who has been thinking about joining a gym for years to someone who wins the Vuelta a España. Once we are clear that you are one of those ‘elite athletes’, I am going to be totally honest. : In this book I talk about my love-hate relationship with sports and the fitness craze that surrounds us. We both know that people are going crazy, you might even be one of them. But you’re cool; others, not so much,” writes the author.
Through the pages of ‘Sport also comes out’ parade ‘motivated people of all stripes’, ‘bullies’ disguised as nutritionists, grandmothers addicted to CrossFit and Turkish soap operas, little dogs who love to ‘dismember’ cyclists, ‘sweet coaches’ and, above all, everything, chocolate palmeritas.
“Maybe you can get out of sport, but it’s better not to give up laughter,” says Santi Millán, prologue writer and Javi Sancho’s ‘adventure’ partner in extreme races like the Titan Desert in Cuba. “In the art of laughter, Javi takes the gold medal. If it didn’t exist, they would have to invent it!” adds the athlete and head of the Women and Snow area of the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI). , Paula Fernández Ochoa.
The work consists of 9 chapters, in which he talks humorously about sports such as running, crossfit, skiing and triathlon, nutrition or tells gym stories.
Born in Tarragona, Javi Sancho has been making his way in the world of comedy in a dazzling way. In four months he won three national comedy contests, one of them organized by Los 40 Principales, which earned him the name of official comedian of the music network.
Collaborator alongside Santi Millán and the communicator Andreu Buenafuente, a few years ago he began a tour of theaters throughout Spain with his show ‘Del sport also comes out’ and his monologues running through the mountains have gone viral on social networks such as Tiktok, where he accumulates almost 200,000 followers.
The book is illustrated by the graphic comedian Raquel Gu, cartoonist in media such as Mongolia, Jot Down, El Jueves, Píkara, Principia or Els matins on TV3 and author of comics and graphic humor books such as ‘The Stupendous Age’.
