Jasikevicius: “The word ‘give away’ tires, we are giving away”

MADRID, 17 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Barça coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius, was frustrated for not “getting” his team to stay focused for 40 minutes or kill the matches, something mandatory in the Copa del Rey, which they said goodbye to on Thursday against Unicaja.

“Congratulate Málaga and Ibon. It’s clear, as a coach, the responsibility is mine. I haven’t been able to let our team know that this is a final. It must be said that I can’t get us to close the games. There were moments when we were very good, dominating , controlling the game,” he said at a press conference.

“We’re talking a lot in the locker room and we’re not doing things right somewhere. We can’t allow ourselves to make so many fouls, Unicaja has done its thing, but the word ‘give away’ is tiring enough, we’re giving away. One foul, another foul, and that’s it there are four, the game belongs to anyone”, he added.

The culé coach also pointed out that they also lost the Super Cup due to fouls. “As a coaching staff we didn’t get it. We lost the Super Cup because we made too many fouls at crucial moments, now we’ve lost the Cup. We have to kill the matches. Unicaja has done its thing, they play a lot of good games against us. It’s a game of Cup, if you don’t kill anything can happen,” he said.

“I can’t concentrate in 40 minutes, I can’t. We’ve given away 15 free throws in the last quarter. I can’t manage to make bonus situations as a coach. I can’t. The only thing I can blame myself is talking too much. My speech is going to to be similar, is the worst. We did not get the next step”, he finished.
