MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish rider Izan Guevara (GasGas) assured that he must “go step by step” and not rush this weekend at the Australian Grand Prix, where he has the first opportunity to be crowned the new world champion in the Moto3 category.
“Without a doubt I have my first opportunity to win the title, but I have to go step by step because Phillip Island is a new circuit for me and it will be difficult because in all the races we always go in a great group,” Guevara said at the wheel of press.
The Balearic indicated that he has seen “many videos” and “the last race” held in 2019 on the Australian track to get an idea and confessed that he has not yet been able to speak with his team boss, Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’, who was four times world champion. “I haven’t talked to him because he didn’t come to Japan or Thailand, but he’s here and I’ll talk to him for advice,” he stressed.
Finally, Guevara was satisfied after confirming his change to Moto2 for the 2023 season within the same structure. “I am very happy to be able to jump to Moto2, but at this moment I only focus on the championship to get the title,” he settled.
