Israel’s Iroman canceled for security reasons

BERLIN, Oct. 15 (dpa/EP) –

The Ironman scheduled for November 3 in Tiberias (Israel) has been canceled this Sunday after the attack by the Palestinian group Hamas against Israel last weekend.

“It is clear that, given the current situation and security concerns, it would not be responsible to hold the race at this time, so we are canceling it,” the organizers of the Ironman Israel Middle East Championship said in a statement.

In recent days, other international football, handball, basketball, tennis and other sports events have also been postponed or canceled in Israel.
