After 13 seasons of the IPL, 19 hat-tricks have been achieved. This is one of the reasons why the Indian Premier League is entertaining. Here are 10 of the most impressive IPL hat-trick list:

Lakshmipati Balaji (2008)

Lakshmipati Balaji wasn’t shy about showing off his skills on the very first edition of the Indian Premier League. He achieved the first hat-trick in IPL history. He was playing for his home team, the Chennai Super Kings, against Kings XI Punjab. Punjab was about to take the title when Balaji turned the game with his remarkable hat-trick.

Amit Mishra (2008, 2011, 2013)

After Balaji’s performance, Amit Mishra took his first hat-trick in the same season playing for Delhi Daredevils. Mishra is known as one of the best bowlers in the history of IPL. He has achieved a hat-trick of hat-tricks being the only player to achieve such a feat. His leg-spinning skills have been the reason behind his incredible achievements.

Makhaya Ntini (2008)

Makhaya Ntini would not be left behind, and he made his hat-trick which became the third one of the season. It was the first hat-trick made by an overseas player, but it went unnoticed because it happened after the first two. Makhaya also played for the Chennai Super Kings but made his hat-trick when playing against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Yuvraj Singh (2009)

Yuvraj Singh is known for his excellent all-rounder capabilities. He is good with the bat and also the ball. In 2009, his bowling skills stunned everyone when he took his first hat-trick in the Indian Premier League. This was when IPL was played in South Africa, the first time on foreign soil.

Rohit Sharma (2009)

Rohit Sharma made waves when he took his first hat-trick in 200p playing against the Mumbai Indians. Rohit was known for his batting skills, but he did the unusual and achieved his first hat-trick. The Rohit Sharma hat-trick in IPL has been the talk of the IPL ever since. Rohit has since had the most hat-tricks in IPL.

Praveen Kumar (2010)

There was only one hat-trick in the IPL tournament in 2010. However, this was achieved by Praveen Kumar, and it changed the game for his team. He became the sixth bowler to achieve a hat-trick in the history of IPL.

Pravin Tambe (2014)

Playing for the Rajasthan Royals, Pavin Tambe took the first hat-trick of the season in 2014. This was also the second hat-trick ever by the Rajasthan Royals. Tambe showed off his leg-spinning prowess when he finished with 4/26.

Andrew Tye (2017

The 2017 Indian Premier League was the debut match for Andrew Tye. However, his performance did not reveal this fact because he played like a pro. Playing for the Gujarat Lions, he finished with a 5/17, winning his team the match. This included a hat-trick which he amazingly took in his first-ever IPL match.

Sam Curran (2019)

Sam Curran was playing against the Delhi Capitals when he bagged the season’s first hat-trick in 2019. His death overs performance was one that is still spoken of today. The English All-rounder won it for his team when he got them to 152 runs because of his remarkable performance.

Shreyas Gopal (2019)

After Sam Curran’s performance, Shreyas Gopal took his hat-trick against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019. This was not his first big move as Gopal had been making waves proving to be a player to watch. He is not just a great bowler but his batting skills are also laudable. This hat-trick was his first and only one, and it adds to the achievements of the Rajasthan Royals.
