Infanta Sofía begins her Welsh adventure: about to leave an empty nest

It’s time to pack your luggage and prepare your passport. The Infanta Sofía flies to the United Kingdom this Tuesday the 29th to study at the UWC Atlantic College, the same center where her sister Leonor studied the International Baccalaureate. She begins the Welsh adventure for the youngest daughter of Felipe VI and Letizia.

Sofia flies alone. It will be this Tuesday, August 29. We will see if Casa Real shares the images of hugs and kisses in T4 of the Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas airport that they sent two years ago, when Leonor flew to Wales. This experience begins with the arrival of all the students, the first year students and the second year veterans. After eight days, on September 5, classes will officially begin. For the students, these previous days will serve as an adaptation to the program of the Castle of St Donat’s, the routines, the coexistence, the community volunteer work and the food.

Sofia, on Leonor’s birthday

The intense calendar of the boarding school marks the first break on October 27, a mini-vacation that will last until November 5. A break that will allow Sofía to celebrate her 18th birthday with Leonor, on October 31. Both form a pineapple and they will be very excited to celebrate together that great day for the heiress.

With the departure of the infanta, he leaves Zarzuela as an empty nest. Her sister faces her first weeks at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza.
