The Athletic Club player Iñaki Williams suffers a sprain in the external lateral ligament of his right ankle, after ending up injured in the victory (0-4) against Cádiz on the third day of LaLiga Santander, according to a statement from the rojiblanco team issued this Saturday.
The attacker hurt his ankle on the Nuevo Mirandilla grass at the start of the second half. Medical assistance attended to the ‘9’ and in the 54th minute ‘he left the field of play replaced by Gorka Guruzeta.
Before the break, Williams opened the scoring in the 24th minute and 11 minutes later ran into Ledesma from the penalty spot, failing to score his second goal of the night. After his injury, the club reported that the footballer is “pending developments” and his participation against RCD Espanyol on matchday four of the competition is in danger.
