As soon as he arrived in Naples by train, the first thing Mourinho did after settling in the concentration hotel was to go to the Quartieri Spagnoli area to lay a bouquet of flowers at the foot of the mythical and immense mural of Maradona with the Napoli shirt that he presides over the wall of a building.

Cheered by local fans

Mourinho was applauded by the hundred local fans present who have the ill-fated Argentine player, who died on November 25, 2020, as his great idol after bringing the greatest successes in his history to Naples: two Serie A (1987 and 1990), a Coppa (1987), a Supercoppa (1990) and a UEFA Cup (1989).

Mourinho was accompanied by Michele Cardini, Napoli manager, and Nuno Santos, goalkeeping coach. The Portuguese coach briefly prayed before the Maradona mural and crossed himself before leaving the place.
