MADRID, 26 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish golfer Ignacio Elvira conquered the Soudal Open in Belgium this Sunday to lift his second DP World Tour trophy, with one stroke ahead of a chasing trio.
The Cantabrian shone from the first day but had to sweat on Sunday, despite starting with a four-shot lead in the lead, to avoid a tiebreaker, with a -18, with the Frenchman Romain Langasque, the Dane Niklas Norgaard and the Belgian Thomas Pieters, all of them with -17.
Elvira’s, her second victory after the Cazoo Open in Wales in 2021, represents the second European Tour tournament at the hands of a Spaniard in 2024, after the one achieved by Adrián Otaegui in the Volvo China Open.
