Iago Aspas extends his contract with Celta until 2025

MADRID, 25 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Striker Iago Aspas has extended his contract as a Celta player until 2025, as reported by the Galician team in a statement on Monday about their captain, who finished his eleventh season as a sky blue last year.

“This July 25 is not only the Galician Fatherland Day, it is the day on which the Príncipe das Bateas unites his destiny with that of the club. The top scorer in celestial history, the winner of four Zarra Trophies, extends his relationship with RC Celta for three seasons. Celtism will be able to enjoy the youth squad’s imagination, quality and goals until 2025”, announced the sky-blue team.

The striker, whose contract expired in June of next year, will wear the Celta shirt, at least, until he is 37 years old with this new extension. Aspas, sky blue captain, has played 418 games with the Galician team, scoring 184 goals and giving 63 assists. Some data that make him the top scorer in the history of the club and a player in the League with the most Zarra Trophies along with David Villa.

In the statement, Celta recalled Moañés’ “magic double” against Alavés to avoid relegation, as well as his tears against Villarreal or his “impossible free-kick goals, due to non-existent gaps or after prodigious rides”, of what now they will be able to enjoy until 2025.
