MADRID, 25 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The ‘Carrera del Pavo’ in Segovia brought cyclists Hugo Sanz and Emma Alonso to the fore this Sunday, who revalidated the title of this mythical event for bicycles without a chain, which has been held on Christmas Day for 87 years.

Hugo Sanz, winner in 2019 and 2021 (in 2020 the test was not held due to the pandemic), took the 87th edition of the ‘Carrera del Pavo’. The rider was victorious ahead of Marcos García and Miguel Martín, who occupied the second and third places on the podium.

For her part, in the female category the victory corresponded to Emma Alonso, who also revalidated the 2021 title, and as a curiosity, ‘Perico’ Delgado, Tour champion in 1988, and much loved in his city, participated again.

In addition, as is the tradition in the Segovian race, the winner received a turkey as a prize, while the second and third received a duck and a pularda. The test organized by the 53×13 Cycling Club ran with a great atmosphere from the descent near the Aqueduct to the Adolfo Suárez square.
