Telecinco will broadcast a special on the night of this Wednesday, September 25th. From Friday with a posthumous interview with Julián Muñoz, who died in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 76 after suffering from lung cancer and a deterioration that marked his health in recent years. He left without repaying the 46 million euros he owed the people of Marbella.
The former mayor of the city of Malaga already offered what was thought to be his last interview a couple of weeks ago, on this same programme. This was broadcast last Friday 13 September, just two days before he was admitted to a Marbella hospital and never came out alive again. It was recorded on the 3rd.
Mayte Zaldívar, whom Isabel Pantoja’s ex remarried in January despite her relationship with another man, has connected with Santi Acosta’s programme hours after her husband was cremated in Marbella: “Julian felt the need to tell his truth without interruption”he said about the posthumous interview.
Zaldívar was not present during the recording of the interview: “I was only there at the end to pick him up. I didn’t see it because I didn’t think I had to be there. I didn’t want to convey that I might restrict or inhibit him from talking about other people.”In this sense, he has revealed that the two had “the code” of not speaking to each other about certain “names and people”, although he has clarified: “He would have felt fine if he had been there”In this posthumous interview, Julián talks about his relationship with Isabel Pantoja.
The last weeks of Julian Muñoz
This is how Mayte recalled the last few weeks with him: “We had received good news that unfortunately did not last long.. So, we pushed our engines a little harder to be together and united, like before, but from that moment on it has been all skin to skin.” The entrances and exits of relatives in the hospital were constant in recent weeks and also in recent months, when Julián was admitted repeatedly.
Mayte has detailed: “It was like wanting to get into his pores and he into ours. Despite the misfortune, everything has been so beautiful.. To see how he enjoyed those moments and the affection with which we looked at each other. It was a way of saying goodbye, saying what I wanted to say to each one. For me, it is a memory that I will carry in my heart.. Always. I don’t care what other people think.”
In his last months and years of life, the corrupt ex-mayor was very close to his wife, his two daughters and his four grandchildren. He was close to the family that he broke up years before because of the singer: “He changed the word sorry to the word I love you“He was an incredible man. It has nothing to do with his profession, with his adventures. Call it whatever you want, it doesn’t matter to me,” Mayte said.
The farewell was hard for the family: “He said goodbye with some very nice words, with a lot of affection.. When life gives you the opportunity to say goodbye to someone, you have to take advantage of it, and the family took advantage of it until the end. We are united like a team and we grow more so every day.”
On how she is feeling, she explained: “I feel like he’s here. I feel bad, seeing him is hard. I feel like he’s here.”.
