Hazard: “The night was perfect”

Belgian striker Eden Hazard called the 3-0 win over the Czech Republic a “perfect night”. in which the Belgium captain scored again after 22 months of drought in two seasons, weighed down by injuries.

“There are quite a few good things: that Romelu (Lukaku) has scored again, that Thibaut (Courtois) has returned to make a great game, that I have scored, a long time ago”, Hazard said with a laugh to the RTBF network.

The Real Madrid striker, who scored the second goal in a game that brings Belgium closer to the World Cup in Qatar, had not scored with Belgium since November 2019.

“For a while it has been difficult for me to chain matches. Now I hope it goes well. And I know that if I chain I know that I will be fine. It is a matter of playing and that my body accompanies me”, added.

Hazard celebrated that Belgium won their first two games after Roberto Martínez's bitter Euro Cup tie in the quarterfinals against Italy.

“In the Euro we live a disappointment (…). With this we try to look to the future”, said Hazard, Although he was very satisfied with the Red Devils game, he pointed out that Belgium allowed themselves too many occasions.

“I think that collectively we can still do better, we still grant chances. But I think it's okay, we continue, we got three points against a good team like the Czech Republic, we will continue like this, “he concluded.
