All the alarms have gone off at Borussia Dortmund. According to the German newspaper Bild, Erling Haaland suffers a muscle strain in the hip flexor and the coveted Norwegian scorer may not play again until 2022.
Haaland was out for almost a month (he missed three games with his team and two with his national team) until he reappeared on October 16 in the Bundesliga with two goals against Mainz (3-1). But last Tuesday, three days later, he would have suffered a relapse during the Champions League game in which Borussia Dortmund was defeated by Ajax (4-0). On Saturday he no longer played against Arminia Bielefeld.
Player upset
Precisely this circumstance would have caused Haaland’s discomfort with coach Marco Rose, considering that he accelerated his reappearance and made him play 180 minutes in just four days. Now the young Norwegian star will miss the decisive stretch of the group stage of the Champions League and the ‘Der Klassiker’ against Bayern Munich on December 4.

Since his arrival at Dortmund in January 2020, Haaland has scored 70 goals in 69 games, numbers that confirm the tremendous impact of the 21-year-old forward in the team’s game.
