Celta overwhelms Getafe aimlessly

Celta halted their fall after two consecutive defeats with an incontestable victory (0-3) at the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum, where they had only won once in their last nine visits, and which takes them away from the relegation zone. He did it at the expense of Getafe, the bottom of the category, which still does not know the victory after ten days played and the change of coach has not made him change his face. He remains sunk at the bottom of the table and is already five points away from permanence.

Although the dynamics of Getafe and Celta were not to throw rockets, both Quique Sánchez Flores and ‘Chacho’ Coudet chose to repeat the ‘eleven’ of the last day. The Madrid coach returned to contribute by plaguing the midfielder team, up to a total of five, to leave only Sandro in the lead. The Argentine coach, for his part, without the injured Renato Tapia, trusted his usual ‘players’ with the confidence that they would supply balls to the two attackers, Iago Aspas and Santi Mina.

If the line-ups of both teams did not bring surprises, neither did the script of the meeting that seemed to be written in advance. Getafe, with a ‘1-4-5-1’, let Celta be in charge of carrying the weight of the game and had the ball in their possession waiting to catch him by surprise. He did not succeed in the entire first part.

With great respect on both sides for the delicate qualifying situation, Celta tested David Soria with a shot from Brais Méndez that was stopped by the goalkeeper and Getafe replied with a header from Arambarri that Dituro blocked. The first two approaches, both before reaching minute 10, were a mirage, because the danger in both areas came in a dropper.

Nolito was the player who would have the most options to score, but in the two he had he found David Soria. Especially clear was the second, in the 38th minute, after a counter and an error by the local Florentino in the clearance, but his shot, in excellent position, was blocked by the local goal.

Getafe’s reply came in the final stretch of the first half and both through Sandro. In one, his shot from inside the area ran into Murillo’s body and in the other, from a free kick, the ball narrowly missed. In this last action, the forward suffered a muscle injury and had to be replaced by Enes Ünal.

After passing through the changing rooms, the film continued along the same paths, with a dominating Celta and a crouching Getafe. However, the 0-0 only lasted nine minutes because the Vigo team saw their insistence rewarded.

The first goal came in the 54th minute. A faulty back pass from Timor sent the ball to Iago Aspas, who was planted in front of David Soria. His shot was diverted to a corner by the goalkeeper in a magnificent intervention. The thrown corner kick was combed at the near post by Brais, the ball reached Santi Mina and he scored at will.

Getafe had not recovered from the stick when the second blow came just four minutes later. Brais, with a great center to the heart of the area, put the ball to Iago Aspas, who alone, had no problems to overcome David Soria.

It was minute 58 and the victory was on track for Celta, who also played in numerical superiority from 63 ‘, when Djené was sent off with a direct red for a hard tackle to Santi Mina. The referee decided to show it to him after seeing the play on the band monitor.

Everything was, then, seen for sentencing. Both coaches began to move the benches. Quique to look for the miracle of a comeback that would not come, and Coudet to give some players a break. Celta continued to play at pleasure and even increased the income on the scoreboard through Santi Mina, after a good assist from Brazilian Galhardo. It was the 0-3 that in the end would already be the definitive result at the Coliseum.
