”Good players achieve great things when given a little soap”

Do you talk about this type of situation with friends, among others, such as Iñigo Córdoba and Unai Nuñez?

We are people from the same circle and we talk a lot about football. Córdoba is a clear example that whoever is a player is a player. You can’t judge a person for being in a club and things aren’t working out for him, you can’t say that that boy isn’t a good footballer. At the minimum that is given a little confidence, a little soap as they say, he is capable of achieving great things. That is what Iñigo is showing in the Netherlands and I hope it continues like this.

Does Nuñez also need some soap?

I have talked a lot with Unai. He has been the third central defender for years, so to speak, although he has had minutes, and he has always wanted to gain a bit of prominence because he is a good player, he has made his debut with the senior team, he has made merits. Perhaps now he is stagnating and it would be good for him to disconnect, change things a bit because he is a good player. If he is where he is, in the club where he is, it will be for a reason.
