Genoveva Casanova reappears on social networks to remember the Duchess of Alba on the anniversary of her death: “I feel you here, next to me”

This Monday marks nine years since the death of Cayetana de Alba and it is the first that Genoveva Casanova is absent from the mass in her memory organized by her ex-husband. From London, where she takes refuge from the media noise after the photographs of her with Federico of Denmark in Madrid, Genoveva has remembered her beloved mother-in-law: “I miss you so much, so much…”.

Genoveva has thus resumed her activity on social networks after three weeks of absence. Along with an image in which she appears smiling with the Duchess of Alba, the Mexican has written: “Your affection, your sense of humor, your motherly way of worrying and taking care of us… How I wish you had not left, even though “Sometimes I still feel you here next to me.”

The businesswoman was very close to her mother-in-law and their relationship remained intact despite her divorce from Cayetano Martínez de Irujo. In fact, Genoveva was a regular presence at the remembrance mass organized every year by the youngest of Cayetana’s male children in the church of Cristo de los Gitanos, in Seville, where the ashes of the aristocrat, who died in 2014 at 88 years old. This Monday, her ex-husband and father of her two children spoke out about Genoveva’s complicated situation: “I am sorry that she could not be here. The savage lynching that she is experiencing in an absolutely unjust manner is sad and regrettable,” he said. “I am very worried because her health is delicate and she is suffering a lot.”
