Irish sports fans are in for a treat in 2024, with Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) competitions in football and hurling set to benefit from an enhanced streaming schedule.
The 38-game live and on-demand package will include 22 Sam Maguire Cup matches, nine Liam MacCarthy Cup ties and seven Tailteann Cup clashes.
Exclusive games include all four GAA Football Championship preliminary quarter-finals, two GAA Football Championship quarter-finals and four Munster Hurling Championship matches.
Grainne McElwain returns to anchor the coverage alongside several familiar analysts including Micharl Murphy, Paddy Andrews, Aaron Kernan and Seamus Hickey.
Former Kilkenny hurling star Richie Hogan will also bring his extensive knowledge of Gaelic sports to the table after retiring from the inter-county game earlier this year.
The coverage will incorporate a new midweek show, while in-game digital highlights will be made available for the first time to viewers on GAAGO social media channels.
All six provincial championships will be streamed to viewers in Ireland for 19 matchdays across 13 weekends, with the coverage set to begin on the first weekend in April.
Noel Quinn, Head of GAAGO, said: “GAAGO is focused on providing an extensive schedule of live and on-demand matches to our fans in Ireland and around the world and the schedule announcement once again showcases this commitment.
“Producing thirty-eight matches, nearly 30 of which will receive full outside broadcast treatment, will ensure fans have a host of extra games to choose from next year and at a very compelling season pass price point.”
GAA fans can purchase the streaming package for just €69 until December 31 or for €79 after that date. The coverage can be accessed across a wide range of digital devices.
This latest development also hands a boost to the online gambling industry in Ireland, as enhanced streaming coverage is guaranteed to generate more betting turnover on live games.
The top Irish bookmakers for GAA betting already have outright odds available on GAA competitions, but can look to expand their offering by introducing a wider range of markets.
Top clubs such as Kerry and Dublin have massive fanbases, which gives sportsbook operators a captive audience they can tap into during the 2024 season and beyond.
