Franco attends the XXVIII Assembly of the Ibero-American Sports Council

The Secretary of State for Sport intervenes this Tuesday in the General Assembly in Santo Domingo

The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Franco, speaks this Tuesday at the XXVIII General Assembly of the Ibero-American Sports Council (CID), which is being held in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) with the presence of the highest government authorities of the sport of the 22 member countries of the CID.

In this Assembly, organized by the sports authorities of the Dominican Republic as the host country, the face-to-face format will be resumed after last year’s Assembly was held in virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The presence and intervention of representatives of important international institutions, such as SEGIB, OEI, UNESCO, UN Women, LaLiga, GIZ, JOMA Sport, WADA, Observatorio España Activa and REDIMYD, organizations with which the CID maintains important collaboration agreements.

In addition, José Manuel Franco will take advantage of his stay in Santo Domingo to hold working meetings with those responsible for sports in the Ibero-American region and reinforce the CSD’s international cooperation policy.

From April 26 to 28, the Dominican Republic hosts the Ibero-American Sports Summit, which includes the assemblies of the Ibero-American Sports Council (CID), the American Sports Council (CADE) as well as the Regional Councils, the South American Sports Council (CONSUDE). and the Central American and Caribbean Sports Council (CONCECADE).

The summit will be opened by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader.

The Secretary of State for Sport also plans to visit a Real Madrid Foundation socio-sports school in Hainamosa on Wednesday, where children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17 see their social inclusion and comprehensive education strengthened through the practice of football and basketball.
