Four essential things you need to know to experience the Qatar World Cup in full

Qatar is preparing to host a historic edition of the FIFA World Cup. With 200 days to go before the big kick-off, Qatar is set to host the 22nd edition of international football’s premier event, and the first to be held in the Middle East and the Arab world.

From November 21 to December 18, Qatar will host the most compact FIFA World Cup in modern history. All eight stadiums are less than an hour’s drive from central Doha, meaning fans and players will always be at the center of the action. And, uniquely in modern times, fans will have the opportunity to attend more than one game a day in the early stages of the tournament.

Here are some of the most important points for this great event.

Tickets for the World Cup in Qatar

In the first phase of ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, 800,000 fans from around the world have secured a place for the biggest football celebration on the planet.

These are all the types of tickets offered:

• Individual tickets These are locations for a specific match, available in four price categories.

• Supporter Tickets These are group stage tickets for fans of a certain team, available in three price categories.

• Conditional Supporter Tickets For supporters who want to reserve a seat for one of their team’s potential matches in the knockout rounds, available in three price categories.

• Subscription for four stadiums Locations for fans who wish to experience the unique atmosphere of four different stadiums on consecutive days.

• Accessibility tickets They are part of any of the previous ticket products and provide people with disabilities and reduced mobility access to adapted facilities and spaces that cover a wide variety of requirements.

Those fans who did not get their tickets can request them on the FIFA website.

Tarjeta Hayya

After purchasing tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, fans will need to apply for a Hayya card, which will be mandatory to attend matches. The Hayya card will provide a number of benefits, including free public transport for ticket holders on match days. It will also serve as an entry permit to Qatar for international visitors.

Ticket holders for the matches will be able to apply for the Hayya card through Qatar2022.qa and the “Hayya to Qatar 2022” mobile app (download links: iOS and Android).

Accommodation

Fans can now book accommodation through the Host Country Accommodation Portal, which will offer a variety of options throughout the year, including apartments, villas and cruise cabins. Fans can also book accommodation through traditional means, such as hotel and vacation rental websites.

the eight stages

The eight stadiums have been designed by renowned architecture studios, such as Foster+Partners, Zaha Hadid and Fenwick Iribarren, and will amaze the world for their original design, as well as for the innovation and sustainability in the use of different materials.

The last to be built was the Lusail stadium, with a capacity for 80,000 spectators, which will host the World Cup final on December 18. The Lusail is one of seven venues that have been built from scratch, while the Khalifa International Stadium has been extensively refurbished in preparation for the 22nd edition of football’s biggest international tournament.
