FIFA announces the participation of 22 Arab teams in the Arab Cup 2021 in Qatar

Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, confirmed the participation of 22 teams in the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup competition What will be celebrated in Qatar.

In turn, Infantino showed his animation with this considerable number of the teams that will participate in the tournament, since most of the competition will be played in the World Cup stadiums from December 18, 2021 and will last 18 days.

Likewise, he indicated that the competition will give the opportunity to more than 450 million Arabs to meet under its banner, showing their confidence in an event that will encourage fans for the first edition of the World Cup in the Middle East and in the region.

Regarding the participation of the Arab teams, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatari Football Federation, underlined the Qatari aspirations to host the fans and the 22 Arab teams that will participate in the tournament (Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Bahrain, Qatar, Comoros, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, Yemen, Djibouti). In addition, he indicated that these teams will be one of the few that will have the opportunity to experience the Qatari advances that are still underway in preparation for the 2022 World Cup.

Infantino assured: “The 2021 Arab Cup will be a good opportunity for the Qatari teams to reinforce their technical preparation to perform better before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, by facing the Arab teams, especially those with high technical performance.”

The president of the Qatari Football Federation indicated that the guests of the competition have an appointment to enjoy an atmosphere similar to what is promised to the fans of the 2022 World Cup. The Tournament will be an optimal occasion to improve the experience of the fans as well as to test the operational layout of the stadiums .

FIFA, the Qatari Football Federation, and the Supreme Committee assume the organization of the Arab Cup whose competition schedule will be the same as the Qatar World Cup 2022, since the final of the Arab Cup 2021 will be played on December 18.
