Espanyol sign an 18-year-old promise from Elche

There are hardly any references to Isaac Obeng, an 18-year-old Ghanaian that last year he played between Juvenil B and A of Elche but that this preseason started it with the first team, under the command of Fran Escribá. It was the first week, an experience for a left-handed winger or interior who will become a new Espanyol player in the next few hours. Isaac, still in youth age, would be straddling Juvenil A and the affiliate that plays in the Second RFEF.

The footballer, whose representative agency is RG Football, even trained with Espanyol on Tuesday. Obeng arrived in Elche three years ago and has been burning stages in an accelerated way, although it was difficult for him to debut because at the beginning he had problems with the documentation. He acts mainly on the flanks, capable of playing on both wings due to his technical level, which allows him to also act as an interior or midfielder.

The numbers of the new acquisition perica

Last year, between the two youth players, he played 18 games and scored four goals. In Elche Obeng was considered a promising player that he could have a good future ahead of him while waiting for his adaptation to the most competitive football, but when he did training with the first team, he was one of those that attracted the most attention, according to several players on the squad. His signing fits into the policy of the new sports direction with grassroots football, in which they seek to bring players who can stand out to accelerate the processes of arrival to the first team.

Espanyol has paid a small amount to Elche by the player and there is another series of clauses by objectives that he will achieve over the years, although the contract would not be long-term.
