Enrique Cerezo reaffirms Atlético’s commitment to sustainable development in the City of Sports

The president of Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, has reaffirmed his club’s commitment to sustainable development for the new City of Sports through a group of experts in the field, during a ceremony held this Tuesday at the Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Architects Technicians from Madrid.

“On this path towards sustainability, we have the support of the best possible partner: the Club de Empresas Cívitas, our main strategic ‘partner’ to develop sustainable projects together,” said Cerezo during the presentation of the Sustainability Think Tank of the City of Sport.

The event was inaugurated by Jesús Paños, president of the Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects, and was attended by Antonio Alonso, vice president of Atlético; Alejandro Ayala, president of the Club de Empresas Cívitas, and Mariano Fuentes, delegate of the Government Area for Urban Development of the Madrid City Council.

Likewise, Cerezo explained that the City of Sports “is a project open to the community in which we aspire to apply sustainability criteria in all actions” and of which “we want to be part of the city and the society that welcomes us, generate a positive impact and contribute to turning Madrid into an innovative and inclusive sustainable city model”.

The rojiblanco president admitted that he hopes that the City of Sports “will become an innovative initiative, with the aim of joining the Madrid project of becoming a benchmark in the fields of sport and sustainability”.

After Cerezo’s speech, the Ciudad del Deporte presentation video was shown. In this sense, Ayala took the floor: “It is a unique space, pioneering in its development and exemplary. For this we have created the Think Tank with the idea of ​​combining health and well-being.”
