El Chojin’s reaction after Queen Letizia’s rap: “It blows my mind”

El Chojinrapper from Madrid, has shown his gratitude to the Queen Letiziaafter the Asturian consort started the central event of ‘World Mental Health Day 2023’ this Tuesday by reciting verses from one of the artist’s lyrics.

The singer feels grateful for the visibility that the intervention of Felipe VI’s wife has given him. Not only with respect to mental health, but also for the recognition of a musical genre as criticized as rap. Furthermore, mental health is one of the social causes for which Letizia is most involved and for which she always requests more resources and visibility.

Chojin was invited to the event without knowing that the queen would be there and he did not imagine that he was going to start rapping one of his verses. Stunned, hours after the event, he expressed on his personal Instagram account: “Okay… I confess that for a few hours I acted as if what happened this morning had been normal. I give up, it wasn’t”.

The rapper continued with his writing and added: “Those of you who know me know how important this topic is to me. I applaud and thank the professionals and volunteers who work to give us peace of mind, calm, tools and health. Hopefully together we will be able to provide them with more resources so that they can be even more efficient in this very, very important work.”

The one from Torrejón, surprised to find the queen herself rapping his lyrics, summarizes what it has meant to him: “I find the queen of Spain in front of the media reciting my verses and it took me a few minutes to understand what that implies. “Rap has always been seen as the little, less serious brother of the music family. Rappers are not usually recognized as full artists.”

And he declared: “I think that what happened this morning is important for our musical style, “And I admit that personally it blows my mind to think that a kid from Torrejón who wrote rhymes in his school notebooks suddenly finds himself invited to forums like this because someone believes he can contribute something.”
