Del Bosque: “Football needs cordiality and good coexistence between its classes”

MADRID, 21 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The former national coach and former coach of Real Madrid Vicente del Bosque analyzed that Spanish football “needs cordiality and good coexistence between all levels”, instead of issues that he “dislikes”, because he would “like football to have the greatest possible reputation”.

“Possibly, football needs that cordiality and that good coexistence between all levels. Because, if we look coldly, we have three teams in the European competition of eight, we still maintain that hegemony of Spanish football in Europe. Instead of ‘ praise ourselves’ on issues that I particularly dislike, because I would like football to have the greatest possible reputation,” said the man from Salamanca at the presentation of a new edition of his campus.

This is what Del Bosque referred to when asked about the operation initiated by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard launched this Wednesday for crimes of corruption and money laundering that included searches in the RFEF and also in the house in Granada of the was its president Luis Rubiales, for alleged irregularities in contracts since 2018 and which include those for the celebration of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

“I honestly can’t, and I don’t want to, look the other way. Let whoever has to solve it solve it, and nothing more. What I do think would be good is that from all levels, CSD, AFE, RFEF, League, we have a cordiality, it will be good for everyone,” he reiterated.

Finally, the only world champion coach with Spain in the men’s category celebrated being “in good hands” with Luis de la Fuente, although he recalled that chance also plays its role in large tournaments. “Football also depends on luck, and you have to have it,” he said.

“Age doesn’t matter, what they need is for them to be good, age is not a merit, it is a state. You have to bring the good ones,” he said about the emergence of young players in the national team such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí or Nico Williams.
