Gabriel Deck (Real Madrid), Alba Torrens (Valencia Basket), Unicaja, Casademont Zaragoza for women, Dejan Bodiroga and Breanna Stewart were some of those recognized this Monday during the Gala of the XXXVI Edition of the 'Premios Gigantes' awarded by the historic magazine dedicated to basketball.
The Argentine forward and the Balearic forward were awarded the respective 'Giant of the Year' in the male and female categories, an honor that at the team level went to the Costa del Sol team and the Zaragoza team, brilliant champions of the Copa del Rey and the Copa del Reigns last season.
In addition, the magazine also awarded the American point guard from Baskonia Markus Howard with the 'Euroleague Giant', while the former Serbian player Dejan Bodiroga, president of the Euroleague, and the American Breanna Stewart took the 'International Legend Giant' and the 'Giant of the International Year'.
In total, the magazine, in a gala that was attended by José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), distributed 34 awards in 30 categories and did not forget figures such as Jorge Garbajosa, Marta Xargay, Aíto García Reneses, Dani Hierrezuelo, Ainhoa López or the lower categories of the Spanish team. In addition, the figures of the deceased Jorge Guillén, José Luis Mendoza, Dejan Milojevic and Sergei Babkov were remembered.
