What is your opinion about the racist murder of George Floyd?
It is very sad what has happened, what is happening. It seems that someone has to die to realize the gravity of the situation. I have always said that in the end, athletes, people with repercussions at the media level, when we suffer from racism we do not take it as badly as when others suffer. Because heyou who really have a hard time are people who have no resources, that they don't let them work in peace, that they don't let them do life in peace.
We are talking about the USA
So is. That with so many African-American icons of that nation there is so much racism when they support NFL teams, basketball teams, film actors, singers …! I do not understand that there is so much racism there when the icons of those cities are black. It is true, too, that they go against the poor blacks, the blacks of humble neighborhoods. They go against them because they are more vulnerable.
“Proud of my neighborhood and its people,” you wrote a few days ago on social media in support of a video about a protest against the death of Elhadji Ndiaye, a Senegalese man who died four years ago in police stations in Iruñea after an arrest in Arrotxapea.
I decided to put that video, given the visibility I have on social networks, to try to make people aware that racism continues to exist and that if we do not act, everyone will go further. Although white people do not suffer it, but if it is and sees it, we have to try to report it. Turning a deaf ear is also racism. We must try to make everyone aware that the world has to get better, that we no longer live like primates, that we are people and we have feelings and that we have to give love.
