Daniele Orsato, referee of Argentina-Croacia

MADRID, 11 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian referee Daniele Orsato will be in charge of directing the semifinal duel of the Qatar 2022 World Cup between Argentina and Croatia, next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Lusail Stadium.

Orsato, 47, directed the 2020 Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich and has been an international referee since 2010. The Italian will be assisted by his compatriots Alessandro Giallatini and Ciro Carbone.

It will be the second game for Argentina that the Italian will lead, after the match between the Albiceleste and Mexico. With the arrival of the final rounds, the World Cup is increasing the tension towards the arbitration proceedings and Orsato will not get rid of the pressure.

Argentina charged hard against the Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz, despite advancing to the semifinals against the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Portugal also unleashed its wrath on Argentinian referee Facundo Tello, after being eliminated by Morocco.
