Daniel Sancho, face to face with Edwin Arrieta's parents: they will be witnesses at the trial

Four months old they have the son of Rodolfo Sancho and his lawyers to prepare his defense in the trial that will take place next April for the murder of Edwin Arrieta. Both parties will present all the relevant evidence to support their versions and a total of 27 witnesses, among whom are the parents of the murdered surgeon.

It will be the first time that Daniel Sancho comes face to face with the victim's immediate family, whom he tried to deceive via Instagram when they asked him about the whereabouts of his son in Thailand once he disappeared: “We separated and I have not seen him again. I take a shower and I'm going to the police station,” he responded.

The meeting will take place at the Koh Samui Court, where the trial will begin on April 3. It will be a very complicated and painful experience for both parties, although Daniel will be supported by his parents, Rodolfo and Silvia Bronchalo. The first one contacted Darling, Arrieta's sister, as soon as she was informed of what happened: “I want to give my deepest condolences to you and your entire family, my soul is with you. I have no words to express the pain I feel with this situation, I don't even want to imagine what you guys are feeling. You don't know how sorry I am, I'm devastated.” Her ex did so via statement a few weeks later: “Our client reiterates her most sincere condolences to the family of Don Edwin Arrieta, making her own the pain and suffering they must be suffering.”

As we already published, the Thai Prosecutor's Office requests the maximum sentence for Daniel Sancho for the crimes of premeditated murder, concealment of a corpse and destruction of private documentation. He pleaded not guilty to the first and third, he only accepts the second of them. His defense will focus on proving that Edwin's death was the fatal consequence of a fight and that Daniel was under a state of insurmountable fear and that he had suffered months of threats and blackmail. He will have several witnesses, one of them protected.
