Lobby (Toño Pérez, in Cáceres) and Kitchen Brothers Torres (Sergio and Javier Torres, in Barcelona) have slipped into the constellation of the galactics by hanging their third Michelin star. The gala, at the Palacio de Congresos de Toledo, brought together the best chefs from Spain and Portugal on Tuesday, November 22. A total of 41 distinctions have been distributed in our country. One of them, for Dabiz Muñoz. The man from Madrid shared the rush on the networks and dedicated it to his wife, Cristina Pedroche: “This star is more yours than mine. Thank you for your talent, your intelligence, your creativity and your immense generosity.” And she also added: “RavioXO on fire, thanks to my Pedroche”.
Three restaurants have added their second distinction. Is about Deessaby Quique Dacosta (Madrid); pepe scallop, by Xosé Cannas, in Serpe (Galicia); y Juan Carlos’ Cornerby Jonathan and Juan Carlos Padrón, at the Royal Hideaway Corales Beach (Adeje, Tenerife).
The 2023 Michelin Guide includes 1,401 restaurants from all over Spain, Portugal and the Principality of Andorra, including 13 with three stars, 41 with two stars, 235 with one star and 281 with Bib Gourmand.
Cáceres sneaks in for the first time among those chosen to house the three-star Atrium. The local cuisine of Toño Pérez, with the Iberian pig as the protagonist, has captivated the palates of the Michelin inspectors “through passion, sincerity and technical excellence”.
Los Torres (Sergio and Javier) cast their namesake restaurant as establishment number 13, also with three distinctions. A magical space, “where the gastronomic experience that travels from consistency through the best seasonal products exceeds the expectations of the diner to become a great show”, argues the guide.
Mandarin Oriental Ritz from Madrid and Pepe Vieira from Pontevedra, ‘biestrellados’
Deessa, the luxurious restaurant of the emblematic Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid, rises to the category of two. “For reflecting the love for the Mediterranean that always emanates from the elaborate and creative cuisine of master Quique Dacosta”, executed by chef Guillermo Chávez.
The restaurant pepe scallopwith Xosé Cannas at the stove, has fixed the small village of Serpe, next to Raxó (Pontevedra), on the gastronomic map. Cannasaccording to the guide, “has known how to surround himself with professionals from all fields to create a singular space in the middle of the field, with marked avant-garde lines and with the sole purpose of exalting the flavors of ‘the last cuisine of the world'”.

Madrid recovers a distinction for Mountains (San Lorenzo de El Escorial), a restaurant that lost it in the last distribution after being forced to close due to a fire in its premises. Also, Ugo ChanMore y Zuara Sushi.
In Castilla-La Mancha, host of the event, they add a star Abool in Albacete; Ancestral in Illescas; Y Oba, in Casas Ibáñez. In La Rioja, it opens Ajonegro (Logrono); and star poker player in Barcelona: in Yes, Come by Paco Mendez, Enigma, Mont Bar y Slow & Low.
