The Spanish cycling team and Cofidis announced a renewal agreement on Tuesday whereby the financial institution will continue to be its main sponsor for the next three years, until December 31, 2025.
The agreement comes after the company extended its status as ‘main sponsor’ of the RFEC, as well as the Spanish cycling team, the Spanish Championships, the Spanish Women’s Cup, the Spanish XCO Cup and the Spanish Junior Cup.
The renewal also allows the continuity of the ‘Inside TeamESPciclismo’ project, which opened the doors of the Spanish team to all fans, allowing them to discover, through a wide series of videos, the intensity and emotion with which the major international events within one of the national teams.
“We have had the will for years to accompany and support the best cyclists in our country in what we hope will be a long journey, and with the ‘InsideTeamEsciclismo’ movement we extend this commitment to their fans, to which we are united by the passion for cycling, while giving athletes the exposure they deserve”, explained Luc-Bertrand Salus, CEO of Cofidis Spain.
For his part, the president of the RFEC, José Luis López Cerrón, also wanted to highlight the financial company’s commitment to national sport. “Cofidis has become, with its unwavering support for cycling, one of the great watchmen of our sport; therefore, the RFEC is proud to be able to extend this collaboration to continue developing and promoting Spanish cycling,” he said.
Cofidis has been sponsoring some of the most relevant competitions on the national cycling calendar for a decade now, since 2012. The company is also the main sponsor of the Vuelta, of Team Cofidis and of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, with whom it has launched the Cofidis Team of Paralympic Cycling Promises, within the framework of the project ‘Cofidis, Pedaling With You’.
