The Vigo club bids farewell and honors Carlos Mouriño, proposed as honorary president

MADRID, 13 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

RC Celta launched a new board of directors this Tuesday at its General Meeting of Shareholders for the 2023/24 season, held in the Regio Hall of A Headquarters and in which a total of 290,533 shares were represented, 77.6% of the social capital of a club that, in the midst of its centenary, approved the highest budget in its history.

“It was a different Board, permeated by a feeling of gratitude and tribute to Carlos Mouriño and his board of directors, who put an end to a key stage in the history of the club, in which RC Celta has experienced a process of growth and unprecedented professionalism,” indicated the Vigo club on its website.

“The shareholders approved the management report, the management of the board of directors and the annual accounts of the last campaign, in addition to ratifying the appointment of the new directors proposed by Marián Mouriño, acting president of RC Celta,” added the press release from the celestial entity.

The budget for the current campaign is 101 million euros, of which 80 will be allocated to sports personnel. This obtained 99.86% support in votes, during a meeting in which a video was shown to honor Carlos Mouriño after 17 years in the presidency.

Fundamental names of the celestial club, such as Iago Aspas, Sergio Álvarez, Borja Oubiña, Ricardo Barros, Pedro Posada and Marián Mouriño herself, among many others, gave their opinion in this video on the extensive work of the already former president of the Vigo entity.

“Thanks to all my council, most of them have accompanied me throughout these 17 years and what we have achieved, we have achieved among all the employees. My merit, if I had any, was bringing together that group of people,” said Carlos Mouriño, visibly excited.

Marián Mouriño, who must be named president of Celta at the first meeting of the new board of directors, also addressed the attendees. The future Celtic leader assured that “this is a historic moment for the club” and that she will face this new project with “responsibility and enthusiasm, building the connection with the community as one of my axes.” “I'm aware,” she added.

“The Meeting concluded with the requests and questions of the attendees and the approval of the minutes of the Meeting. Marián Mouriño answered in detail the doubts and questions of the shareholders, focused on the financial and sporting situation,” the press release finally clarified. .
