The Spanish wins in Barcelona as she did in November in the Andalucía Costa del Sol
MADRID, 11 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish golfer Carlota Ciganda conquered this Sunday the Estrella Damm Ladies Open, a European Circuit tournament played at the Terramar Golf Club in Barcelona, in a last day of great suspense in which she managed to defend her position at the top.
Ciganda won his sixth Circuit title with an exhibition before his public as leader from the first day, a condition that he lost at times eight holes from the end. A ‘double-bogey’ on the ninth hole opened the door for the pursuers.
The Navarrese, who won the tournament before in 2019, had started on Sunday with a four-stroke lead, but the mattress came to nothing. Argentina’s Magdalena Simmermache also had her stumble, on the 12th hole and could not push for victory.
The Scot Laura Beveridge finished second and Simmermache, third, two and three strokes behind a Ciganda that triumphs again on Spanish soil like last November at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open.
