Carlos Vela renews with Bale and Chiellini’s Los Angeles FC

Mexican striker Carlos Vela announced this Sunday that he has renewed with Los Angeles FC, the best team in MLS right now and that in recent days he has closed two major signings with the signings of Welshman Gareth Bale and Italian Giorgio Chiellini.

Just four days after his contract expired and after a few months of rumors and unconfirmed news, Vela cleared up the unknown regarding his future this Sunday and guaranteed his continuity in the Los Angeles team in statements to ESPN.

“Yes, the truth is that it was a matter of time. Obviously, both parties were very excited to close the contract,” he explained in the preview of the MLS match that LAFC beat New York Red Bulls 2-0. Vela himself assisted Colombian Cristian Arango with the first goal and his team consolidated as leader of the MLS Western Conference.

“It’s always business and if one goes one way, the other goes another. But when both sides want to get to the same place, it always ends up happening and that’s how it happened. I’m very happy to be able to continue here. Until I win a title I won’t I want to leave here. It’s something that motivated me to continue and hopefully it can be this year,” added Vela, 33.
