Canelo Alvarez surely has a plan to make the most out of this year. He is mainly focussing on growing his career which will not happen if he will not fight. So his intentions are to fight ‘Twice’ this year in order to be one step closer to his dream goals.
Eddy Reynoso, the trainer of Canelo Alvarez for a long time now, was having a conversation with Box Azteca. Eddy did mention that Canelo has the intention to fight twice before the end of 2020. It seems like the first opportunity to fight will be in September while another fight will take place in December.
Canelo Alvarez Wants To Fight Golovkin
Well, Canelo Alvarez is negotiating for quite some time to fight Billy Joe Saunder who is the super middleweight titleholder. But if we believe Eddy’s statement then the opponent to fight one of the sport’s biggest stars is yet to select. It is not sure which opponent will Canelo Alvarez has to face in the upcoming time.
Eddy Reynoso reveals to Mexican Outlet, “We realistically want two fights this year,” When Mexican Outlet did ask for further more details, Eddy continues, “We couldn’t fight in May, so we are looking at September and December. We’re talking about [potential opponents] like Billy Joe Saunders. There’s also [super middleweight beltholder] Caleb Plant and the WBC world titleholder at 168 pounds (David Benavidez). There are several [possibilities].”
Fans will surely know that Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin did fight in September 2017. But no one did win among the two as the result of the match was a draw between them. Later on, Canelo Alvarez wins the rematch by a majority decision in the next year.
Eddy Reynoso also mentions that Golovkin can be fighting in December. Because Golovkin’s people already claim that he does not want to fight Canelo Alvarez until after he fights Kamil Szeremeta. So fans and viewers are really having the excitement and they are curious to know about who will face Canelo Alvarez. It will surely be an interesting and exciting watch.
