The Real Madrid midfielder highlights how “easy” and “fast” his adaptation has been and his relationship with the Italian coach

Real Madrid’s French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga celebrated how “easy” and “quick” his adaptation to the Whites has been and his relationship with Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, who, according to him, has given him “a lot of confidence” in his first course with the Chamartín club shirt.

In an interview for GQ magazine collected by Europa Press, Eduardo Camavinga, who was the first footballer to walk the runway for the fashion firm Balenciaga, reiterated that playing for Real Madrid has been his “dream” since he was young. “It’s the best club in the world and when they came to sign me I had no doubt that I wanted to come,” he said.

Regarding other midfielders for the white team, such as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, he said that he has learned “a lot from them” such as the position they play on the field and its characteristics. “But also everything they do off the field, like playing sports after training, resting. These are things that I apply to myself because they are good for me,” he said.

When Real Madrid arrived to sign him, he admitted that he had “no doubt”. “It’s different, it’s another dimension. In Rennes I was also very popular, but nothing to do with what I am now that I play for Real Madrid. When I travel to another country I keep thinking that people won’t recognize me, but yes who recognizes me, because Madrid matches are seen all over the world. It hasn’t been a shock, since I was already used to popularity, but it is different, it’s another level,” he said.

He declared himself an “extroverted person”, so his adaptation to the white wardrobe has been easy and fast. “Obviously, my best friends are French, because it’s my language, but I speak to everyone, a little more with Aurélien (Tchouaméni), Rüdiger, Karim (Benzema), Ferland (Mendy) or David (Alaba). I like living here I like the atmosphere and the people, and the weather is very good,” he said.

In his opinion, Carlo Ancelotti is “one of the best coaches in the world”. “He has been able to win many different competitions in many countries. He is a person who talks a lot with the players, also with the youngsters. When I arrived, he gave me some roles and explained what he wanted from me. I come off the bench, he always gives me a lot of confidence”, he highlighted.

On the other hand, he said that France is “favorite” in the next World Cup in Qatar 2022 because it has “many world-class players.” “France is the country that welcomed me when I was very young, I have lived in France since I was very young, I have the culture of France and the education of France. It is normal that I play for France to give back to France what it has given me. Playing with the French team in the World Cup would be a dream,” he acknowledged.
