Calafell will host the next edition of the Copa del Rey roller hockey, as reported this Friday by the Royal Spanish Skating Federation (RFEP) after reaching an agreement with the City Council of the Catalan city.
The municipality of Tarragona has extensive experience in organizing high-level sporting events, such as the 2018 Mediterranean Games. The city, which has some 27,000 inhabitants, has not only organized and hosted prestigious sporting events, but also It also has a wide and consolidated background in cultural events in which they have brought together thousands of spectators. Thus, they accredit the organizational and logistical capacity of the city of the Costa Daurada.
This will be the first time that Calafell will host the Copa del Rey roller hockey, awarded the Family Tourism Destination so that all lovers of roller hockey can enjoy the territory and the best national roller hockey.
In this way, the Parlem CP Calafell will host the 2023 edition of the Copa del Rey. The Verdiblanco team, founded in 1952, has been participating in the top state competition, the Parlem OKLiga, since the 2011/12 season, with a brief exception in the 16/17 and 17/18 seasons.
Since then, it has managed to establish itself as a great club, not only at the state level, but also in Europe, crowning itself with the WS Europe Cup, last year, in 2021, in Paredes. Those from Baix Penedès took the title by beating Follonica 6-5.
