The Pontevedra estuary offered this Friday an unbeatable day of regattas for the 24 6-meter boats that until Sunday are competing in the InterRías Trophy, a regatta organized by the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo, where Juan Carlos I followed the competition from the support pneumatics of the Rogue 500.

With a stable wind from the North that went from less to more -from eight to 14 knots- and a shining sun, the start was perfect for the third round of the 6 Meter Spanish Cup, with the June World Cup just around the corner. corner.

The Open Hotel Carlos I Silgar division was the first to start the regattas, with a Stella that was able to take advantage of the wind and won both races of the day. In Classics -the units built before 1970-, there is more Spanish representation, up to six boats out of a total of 11.

On this first provisional podium of the Viajes InterRías Trophy, the Galician sailors are the protagonists: two are units from the RCN from Sanxenxo, with a strong Bribon 500 in first place and Titia in third, and one from the CM from Canido, Caprice, from the patron Inigo Echenique. Frenchman “Dix Août”, the president of the International 6m class Louis Heckly, is the best ranked foreign participant, in fourth place.
