Boys and girls in foster care will accompany the internationals in the friendly Spain-Northern Ireland in Mallorca

MADRID, 31 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Boys and girls from host families will accompany the internationals before the start of the friendly between the Spanish and Northern Ireland soccer teams, which will take place on June 8 at the Son Moix stadium in Palma de Mallorca and serves as a preparation for ‘ La Roja’ for the next Euro Cup in Germany.

This initiative, which will be announced this Friday, World Fostering Day, will be developed with fostering associations, led by Acougo, an entity with which the Department of Equality, Social Responsibility and Sustainability of the Royal Spanish Federation of Children collaborates. Football (RFEF).

The objective is to make visible the importance of raising awareness about children and adolescents who lack a stable family and live in social service centers. These families turn them into their sons or daughters during the time that their processes are prolonged to a more stable extent or permanently.

To this end, the so-called ‘Palco 0’ that makes social causes visible and that the RFEF brings to the national team matches, will be dedicated in Mallorca to host families. Fathers and mothers with boys and girls who have made this vital option will go there. Furthermore, the ‘player escorts’ who will accompany the players at the start of the match will be boys and girls who reside in social service centers and who become the sons and daughters of the families who wish to give them a home.

The RFEF, aware of the strength of football as an element of social change, has launched different initiatives through the ‘Palco 0’ to try to raise awareness among the population about problems such as autism, bullying, and has honored the old woman.
