White Dove has had to settle for seventeenth place in Eurovision 2023a position that has been a blow taking into account the good forecasts that were for Spain, fifth in the prediction made by bookmakers.
Although the jury has rewarded the performance of Blanca Paloma with a ninth place (95 points), the televoting has buried any option of the Elche. The public has only awarded 5 points to Spain, the country least voted by viewers. In total, Blanca Paloma has received 100 points, far from the 583 of Sweden, winner of the festival.

Minutes after the Eurovision 2023 final, Blanca Paloma has spoken on TVE about what happened in Liverpool. “I am very proud, I will keep this experience for the rest of my life. There is a lot of work to be done, flamenco still has to continue to be exported, this has only gone from seed to growing in people’s hearts”, she said in the program that La 1 has broadcast after the festival.
“It was risky to bring something so particular to Eurovision”
Blanca Paloma has recognized that her proposal was “brave” and has encouraged other artists to follow her path, even if that entails a risk. “Hopefully in the future more risky proposals because we must not lose hope”, she has stated. “We have given everything. I am happy with the execution of this performance. It was brave to bring something so particular to Eurovision, because it was risky. It is about sowing so that people know our folklore.”
