Bilbao vibrates with the closing of the second phase of LaLiga Genuine Santander

The Lezama Sports City has welcomed more than 300 players and coaching staff this weekend at the closing of the second phase of LaLiga Genuine Santander, with RCD Mallorca, the Albacete Foundation and Girona FC as leaders of their respective groups and Athletic Club, Nàstic de Tarragona and Fundación Celta Integra leading the ‘Fair Play’ rankings.

With Athletic Club as host, the schedule of activities began last Friday with the inauguration in San Mamés of the third venue of the 2022-23 season of LaLiga Genuine Santander. The event was attended by the captains of the 22 participating teams along with Nerea Ortiz, vice president of Athletic Club; Clemente Villaverde, president of the LaLiga FOUNDATION; Vicente del Bosque, Ambassador of LaLiga Genuine Santander and José Ángel Iribar, Legend of Athletic Club.

In addition, and as an act of brotherhood between the Finetwork Liga F and LaLiga Genuine Santander, the Genuine captains welcomed the Athletic Club and Sevilla FC players with a corridor on the San Mamés pitch.

On Saturday and Sunday, more than 30 matches were held at the Lezama Sports City, which managed to mobilize hundreds of fans from all over Spain. These clashes have meant the second opportunity in the season for these teams to score points in the sporting part, and have left the Albacete Foundation at the head of the Respect Group; RCD Mallorca as first of the Compañerismo Group and Girona FC as leader of the Grupo Deportividad sports competition. The three teams add 18 points, which is a full of victories.

Regarding the ‘Fair Play’ classification, Nástic de Tarragona is at the top of the Compañerismo group with 237 points, Athletic Club of the Respect Group with 238 points and Fundación Celta Integra of the Deportividad Group with 221 points.

The program at the Bilbao headquarters concluded with the awarding of medals for all the participants, by Clemente Villaverde, president of the LaLiga FOUNDATION; Olga de la Fuente, director of the LaLiga FOUNDATION; Nerea Ortiz, vice president of the Athletic Club; Aintzane Encinas, Ambassador of LaLiga; as well as different representatives of associated brands and entities collaborating with the competition.

For its part, Burger King Spain, as a brand associated with the competition, has continued at this venue with its ‘Fanáticos de lo Real Tour’, installing a Fan Zone so that all attendees can enjoy their leisure and fun activities, such as a game of shooting on goal or a giant target. In the same way, Banco Santander continues to support this socially responsible project as title sponsor during this season.

The Genuine project thus closes a second phase full of shared joys such as the venues with RCD Espanyol and Athletic Club as host clubs. Now, the competition sets its sights on the third phase of this season, which will move to the cities of Vigo and Burgos on April 14, 15 and 16, and May 12, 13 and 14, respectively.
