Betis obtains the precautionary suspension of the sanction to Sergio Canales

MADRID, 4 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Central Court for Contentious-Administrative Number 4 has granted this Tuesday to Real Betis the precautionary suspension of the four-game ban on midfielder Sergio Canales until the final ruling of the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD), so that the Cantabrian will be able to play the LaLiga Santander match next Sunday against Cádiz.

“The Central Contentious-Administrative Court Number 4 grants the precautionary suspension of the sanction to Sergio Canales until the final decision of the TAD. Come on, Sergio!”, announced the verdiblanca entity on the social network Twitter.

This Monday, the Andalusian club announced that it would resort to ordinary justice to try to get the sanction suspended. Last Wednesday, Canales was suspended four games for his statements about the Valencian referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz, to whom he attributed a premeditated action in his expulsion last October in the duel of the tenth day of LaLiga Santander against Cádiz in the Nuevo Mirandilla.

On that occasion, Canales saw two yellow cards in a row at the discount of the match. A little over a month ago, the Spanish international referred to that expulsion, after the Valencian referee also directed the duel between Betis and Real Valladolid. “I was clear that I wasn’t even going to address Mateu Lahoz. Although I’m the captain, today I wasn’t going to talk to him. I think the expulsion in Cádiz was premeditated. I didn’t even protest,” he said after that other game.

The Competition Committee decided to penalize these statements because “the attribution of premeditation to the referee -that is,
pointing out that he had thought through the decision carefully and carefully before adopting- clearly questions his impartiality and honesty by being accused of a kind of fraudulent attitude when adopting the decision,” the file says.

Canales already served the first of his four sanctioned matches on Sunday, when Manuel Pellegrini’s men faced Atlético de Madrid at the Cívitas Metropolitano in a clash in which the rojiblancos won (1-0).
