MADRID, 12 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Al Ittihad beat Auckland City 3-0 this Tuesday, with a goal included by French striker Karim Benzema, and qualified for the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup, which is being held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

At the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Romarinho opened the scoring for the home team in the 29th minute and N'Golo Kanté extended that lead five minutes later. Shortly before the break, Benzema made it 3-0 for Al Ittihad by pushing a low pass from Muhannad Shanqeeti into the net.

This victory put the host of the tournament (champion of the Saudi Professional League) in the next round, where they will now face Al Ahly (African champion). The other quarterfinal match will measure Club León (champion of North America, Central America and the Caribbean) against Urawa Reds (champion of Asia).
