The bomb of the season exploded in the Bundesliga this Saturday. Hansi Flick announced that his time at Bayern Munich, after 18 months, would end at the end of the season: “I want to terminate my contract this summer, that's a fact. “The coach who led Bayern to win the sextete in 2020 wants to say goodbye. Bayern have not been happy with the fact that their coach publicly announced his intentions to the point that this Sunday he issued a statement disapproving of the unilateral communication of a Flick whose link to the Germany team is almost a fact. He would return now as head coach. Flick was already second to Joachim Löw in the Mannschaft between 2006 and 2014.
A void that will not be easy to fill for the Bayern Munich leaders. Now they have homework Hasan Salihamidzic, sports director of the Bavarian club; Rummenigge, Chairman of the Board of Bayern and future CEO Oliver Kahn. What options does Bayern have for the bench?
Julian Nagelsmann (33 years old)
The wunderkind on the bench is the number one candidate. However, it has two obstacles. The first, who has a contract with Leipzig until 2023. In addition, the young German coach has been in charge of denying that he wants to leave the energy brand team for Bayern Munich. In spite of everything, he is number 1 in the bets to replace Flick. In 2018 they already went for him.
Erik Ten Hag (51 years old)
The Dutch coach has always been in the pools to coach the Bayern first team. He was already the manager of the second team between 2013 and 2015 before jumping to Utrecht and making a career at Ajax. He has a contract until 2022 but has always been highly valued by the heavyweights of the board. In the past there have already been approaches but it was not the time to leave Ajax. Now it can be different.
Massimiliano Allegri (53 years old)
The Italian is like crazy to train. Since his departure from Juventus in 2019, he has not sat on a bench again. It sounded for several clubs (Juve, Roma, PSG, Chelsea …) but finally nothing came to fruition. Valued in Italy, he has not trained outside the transalpine country. He has experience in Europe, with two lost Champions League finals: 2015 and 2017.
Joachim Löw (61 years old)
The German coach will leave the post after Euro 2021, after fifteen years in office. Not much is known about his future although a good offer from Bayern would be very difficult to pass up. It would be necessary to see how the Eurocopa would be combined with being coach of Bayern. It is an option but it sounds very remote at the moment.
Ralph Hasenhüttl (53 years old)
The current Southampton manager is highly valued on the international scene. His style of play and the self-confidence shown by his players has attracted attention. He has a contract until 2024 although before it will be difficult to say no to the Bayern train. The Austrian hung up his boots in the ranks of Bayern's second team. Before training in the Premier, he made a career in Germany. He was Leipzig's coach from 2016 to 2018 in the team's Bundesliga debut.
Miroslav Klose (42 years old)
The Pole is currently Bayern's second manager. He has not made his solo debut yet. It would be the chance of a lifetime and a step to continue the work done until then by Flick. He has a contract with the Germans until the end of the season. Difficult option since his relationship with Salihamidzic is not entirely fluid. Inexperienced, Bayern are an ogre who could arrive too soon.
Stefan Kuntz (58 years old)
It would be the most unknown candidate for most of the fans, but it was already Flick for many. He is the current Germany Under-21 coach and is currently the second option to relieve Löw in the Mannschaft (Flick is the first). He has done very well with the young Germans and is the current champion of the European Under-21 Championship in 2019.
Mark Van Bommel (43 years old)
The former Bayern player would be a last minute solution. Former PSV coach, he knows the club perfectly as he was a Bavarian footballer for five seasons. In his favor, he has shared a dressing room with Salihamidzic and Kahn. Still his choice would be desperate and because other coaches have rejected the opportunity.
Christian Streich (55 years)
An entire institution in Freiburg where he has been since 2011. His name is on the table of the federation for the position of selector. With contract until 2022. He has led 351 matches at the modest German club. It would be a medium-low profile technician.
These are not the only names that sound to occupy the Allianz Arena although it would be very far-fetched if they end up training Lewandowski, Neuer, Coman and company. Peter bosz (his last club was Bayer Leverkusen until a month ago); Bruno Labbadia (in January he was dismissed as coach of Hertha Berlin) and Ralf Rangnick, who is close to having absolute control at Eintracht Frankfurt. Another option is Oliver Glasner, current manager of Germany's sensation of the season, Wolfsburg.
