Bautista and Carballés advance in Mallorca and Badosa does not fail in Bad Homburg

The Spanish tennis players Roberto Bautista and Roberto Carballés advanced this Sunday to the round of 16 of the Mallorca Championships, an ATP 250 event that is played on grass, while the also Spanish Paula Badosa had another good debut on the grass of Bad Homburg (Germany).

Bautista achieved a solid debut in Mallorca at the expense of the Japanese Taro Daniel, with a 6-1 and 6-0 in less than an hour. The Castellón player took a break from the bad season he is going through, but in the round of 16 he will have to take another step forward against the second seed, the Frenchman Ugo Humbert.

Later, in a Spanish duel, Roberto Carballés defeated Pablo Carreño 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-6(3), and in his second match in the Balearic event he will face the Frenchman Gael Monfils or the Austrian Diminic Thiem.

For her part, Badosa entered with a good performance on the grass tour, after being eliminated in the third round at Roland Garros, beating the Dutch Arantxa Rus 6-4 and 6-1. The Catalan will a priori have a tough second match on the grass of the German WTA 500 tournament, if the first seed, the Greek Maria Sakkari, overcomes the Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
