Barça goes to Riyadh with all the players for the Super Cup

Pedri, like the injured Cancelo and Martínez, travels without discharge

BARCELONA, 9 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona goes to the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia with all the available players and also with the injured ones, in a list made up of 25 members in which Xavi Hernández includes Pedri, who could receive a medical discharge in time to play, and youth players like striker Marc Guiu.

Barça will play the semi-final of the competition against CA Osasuna this Thursday and, if they qualify, they will be able to play in the grand final on Sunday in Riyadh. A competition, won last year against Real Madrid (3-1), in which the club seeks to defend its status as champion.

For now, the club opts to form a group and goes with everything to Arabia, including the injured João Cancelo and Iñigo Martínez, as well as Pedri who, after already doing part of the sessions with the group, could receive a medical discharge and have weight in the competition.

Today, in the Tito Vilanova field of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, the team carried out the last training session before the trip, with all those available from the first team in addition to Astralaga, Kochen, Héctor Fort, Marc Casadó, Cubarsí, Marc Guiu, Mbacke and Gerard Martín, of Barça Atlético and Juvenil.

The team will fly to Saudi Arabia this Tuesday. Barça, as League champion, Real Madrid, as Copa del Rey champion, Osasuna, as Cup runner-up, and Atlético de Madrid, as third-placed in the League, will compete for the first title of 2024 in the stadium Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.
