Barça and Celta seal the transfer of Mingueza with a possible Blaugrana repurchase

The defender will sign until 2026 and Barça will receive half of a possible sale

BARCELONA, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The player Óscar Mingueza will play for RC Celta de Vigo until 2026 after the Celta club made the transfer of the defender official, who arrives from an FC Barcelona that keeps a repurchase option as well as 50 percent of a future sale to another club

“New major reinforcement for RC Celta’s defensive line. International defender Óscar Mingueza, 23 years old, joins the exciting sky-blue sports project for the next four seasons,” confirmed Celta de Vigo in a statement.

Despite the fact that the principle of agreement between both clubs was announced last Saturday, the medical review and the signing of the contract were pending. Once all the fringes have been combed, Mingueza is already a new Celta player for all purposes for the next four seasons.

For its part, Barça gave more details of the operation. “FC Barcelona and Real Club Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Óscar Mingueza. The Blaugrana club reserves the right to repurchase the player in the future and 50% of a future sale”, provided the Catalan entity.

Mingueza, trained at La Masia, went from the prebenjamín to the culer first team passing through all the Barça categories. In his third season at Barça B, Ronald Koeman put him in the first team dynamic in November 2020.

He made his debut with Barça in the Champions League, assisting a goal towards Braithwaite, in the field of Dinamo kyiv. As a right-back or as a central defender, the footballer from La Masia has accumulated a total of 66 participations with Barça.
